Joanne McKiernan
Joanne McKiernan is the Executive Director of Volunteer Toronto, where she leads the organization’s strategy and represents its work across the sector. She is proud to champion the team’s efforts to strengthen volunteerism, build trusted partnerships, and expand opportunities for communities across Toronto. Her leadership is rooted in collaboration, ensuring that Volunteer Toronto remains a catalyst for innovation, equity, and community connection.
Cara Eaton Cara has been with Volunteer Toronto for seven years, having led many of the organization’s communications and strategic partnership activities. In her current role, she deploys ambitious growth, fund development, stakeholder relations and impact strategies that cascade through the organization’s programs and communications, ensuring alignment with Volunteer Toronto’s strategic plan. Cara also supports the Executive Director in spokesperson capacities and through other management responsibilities on the organization's behalf.
Kasandra James Kasandra provides strategic leadership of the organization’s programs, services and events that connect Toronto’s diverse volunteer-seekers with community organizations and volunteer programs that need them.
Sammy Feilchenfeld, CVA
Sammy designs and oversees Volunteer Toronto’s responsive and accessible learning experiences for non-profit engagement professionals, grassroots leaders and volunteer seekers. With a strong focus on diverse educational interventions that support the changing needs in volunteerism, Sammy also develops training for aspiring and established non-profit Board Members. Sammy is a Certified Volunteer Administrator.
Tatiana Letang Tatiana is responsible for planning and delivering key communications tactics that directly enable Volunteer Toronto’s ongoing programs, such as an annual volunteer fair for youth, mobilizing digital learning resources, and National Volunteer Week activities.
Niranjala Mariathas
Samah AbdelAziz, CVA Samah leads all of Volunteer Toronto’s internal volunteer engagement, developing and growing the organization’s volunteer team with a focus on belonging and meaningful engagement. Samah is responsible for developing volunteer roles, recruiting and onboarding new volunteers, and providing ongoing support to volunteers throughout their journey with Volunteer Toronto.
Olivia Sonnenberg
Olivia plans, deploys and optimizes strategic outreach and engagement tactics for core non-profit and public audiences via e-newsletter and social media. She is the primary point of contact for non-profits looking to subscribe to our services, helping to ensure that volunteertoronto.ca remains a source of safe and ethical volunteer opportunities.
